Prof. Kurozawa and Dr. Otani host a Symposium at the 21st International Epidemiological Association (IEA) World Congress of Epidemiology (WCE2017)

Members from Tottori University hosted a symposium titled "Desertification and Health:
Human-Animal-Land Interaction in East Asia" at the 21st International Epidemiological Association (IEA) World Congress of Epidemiology (WCE2017).

Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Shinji Otani of the International Platform for Dryland Research and Education, Assoc. Prof. Yasunori Kurosaki (Arid Land Research Center, Tottori Univerity), Assoc. Prof. Dambadarjaa Davaalkham (Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health, Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, Mongolia), Prof. Akinori Shimada (Department of Pathology, Azabu University, Japan) and Assoc. Prof. Kazunari Onishi (Center for Birth Cohort Studies, Interdisciplinary Graduate school of Medicine, University of Yamanashi, Japan) presented on impacts of desertification on human health and its evaluation. Participants of this symposium had a very fruitful discussion on the possibility of elucidating the impacts of desertification in the context of epidemiology.
