Signing Ceremony of the Academic Exchange Agreement and the Memorandum for Student Exchange between Hawassa University and Tottori University

On August 15, 2025, Hawassa University and Tottori University held a signing ceremony for the Academic Exchange Agreement and Memorandum of Student Exchange at a hotel in Hawassa, Ethiopia. 
The ceremony was attended by Professor Chirotaw Ayele, President of Hawassa University, and Professor Atsushi Tsunekawa, Vice President representing Tottori University. In the presence of representatives from both institutions, the partnership was formally established. 

The agreements aim to promote collaboration in education and research through faculty and student exchanges, joint research activities, academic symposia, and the sharing of scholarly resources. The Memorandum of Student Exchange further specifies opportunities for reciprocal student exchanges and initiatives to foster cross-cultural understanding. These agreements mark the outcome of a series of discussions on future cooperation held since last year.

Vice President Tsunekawa expressed his hope that joint efforts in research and education will advance scholarly knowledge and technological development, thereby contributing to global goals. President Ayele expressed his gratitude to the scholars who facilitated this partnership and reaffirmed his strong commitment to its successful implementation. 

Following the signing, researchers from the College of Agriculture, Wondogenet College of Forestry & Natural Resources, and Tottori University presented and discussed multidisciplinary research proposals, further strengthening the foundation for future collaboration. Building on this agreement, both institutions are committed to deepening their academic partnership and contributing to the advancement of international education and research.
