Prof. Yoshinobu Kitamura wins Awards at the Japanese Society of Irrigation, Drainage and Rural Engineering (JSIDRE) Conference

Professor Yoshinobu Kitamura of International Platform for Dryland Research and Education won the JSIDRE Book of the Year of FY 2018 for his work “Know-how and Knowledge on Water Usage in Drylands: Water usage and management for conserving food, agriculture and environment” (edited and published in English under the title of “Agricultural Water Management in the Drylands: New paradigm to cope with scarcity and climate change”). The book presents practical information and wisdom of water use and management which Prof. Kitamura gained through many years of his extensive research experience in drylands.

He also received the Outstanding Research Award for his work in collaboration with Professor Haruyuki Fujimaki of Arid Land Research Center.
