Diabetes Prevention Project in Philippines gets adopted to JICA Partnership Program (“JPP”) of FY2015

Diabetes Prevention Project, an international partnership project, has been adopted to Japan International Cooperation Agency Partnership Program.

The project is part of the Human Development & Education Group of Human Development (society, education and health) Project, one of IPDRE’s 5 interdisciplinary projects.

Assoc. Prof. Chika Tanimura (Faculty of Medicine, Department of Health Science) and Assoc. Prof. Nobuyuki Kobayashi (Arid Land Research Center) lead the project aiming to promote health education for improvement of diabetic patients’ quality of life in collaboration with researchers of IPDRE, doctors of university hospital, universities in Philippines, local town office, health center, and diabetic clinic. Contribution to the subject community through supporting the development of systems and structures to maintain patient supports is the ultimate goal of this project.
