4. Job description
  • (1) Conduct and/or supervise research projects of International Platform for Dryland Research and Education, particularly Transdisciplinary Research Project “Future Dryland”;
  • (2) Educate and build students’ capacity to take part in resolving various issues and challenges in drylands;
  • (3) Coordinate joint activities between Tottori University and overseas institutes, particularly those in Mongolia.

6. Remuneration
Conditions of employment including salary are subject to the regulations of Tottori University, provided that the conditions maybe changed due to the budget situation.

April 1, 2020

8. End date
March 31, 2022

9. Qualification and other requirements
The applicant must
  • (1) have a PhD degree;
  • (2) have sufficient ability and experience to fulfill duties stated in part 4 “job description”;
  • (3) be familiar with environment and society in drylands, particularly those of Mongolia;
  • (4) have enough language ability and communication skill to coordinate joint activities between Tottori University and domestic and overseas research institutes in both English and Japanese.

  • (1) Dossier (use attached form);
  • (2) Copies of all publications of “4. Books/Book Chapters”, “5. Refereed Journal” and “6. Reviews, Research Reports, Proceedings, etc.” listed in the Dossier. If publications are in print, copies of acceptance letters from the Journals or publishers should submitted. For “7. Patents”, documents describing the publication number of the patent should be provided;
  • (3) Summary of major research achievements mainly related to dryland and its challenges. (Maximum 2 pages in A4 size paper);
  • (4) Future research plan/objectives at International Platform for Dryland Research and Education (maximum 2 pages in A4 size paper).

11. Screening
