Twelfth International Conference on Development of Drylands (ICDD)

Twelfth International Conference on Development of Drylands (ICDD) “Sustainable Development of Drylands in the Post 2015 World" was held in Alexandria, Egypt during August 21 ~ 24.

This conference was organized by an autonomous nongovernmental nonprofit organization, International Dryland Development Commission (IDDC). Seven research institutions from all over the world, including ALRC, co-hosted the conference. This conference aimed at information exchange for development of strategies for the achievement of sustainable development in drylands.

International Platform for Dryland Research and Education (IPDRE), Tottori University co-hosted a special session titled “Restoration of Degraded Dry Ecosystems: Beyond conventional approaches” in collaboration with International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA). Several authorities in dryland science and related field gathered to present their research and have a panel discussion. Presentations and panel discussion were fruitful and ended successfully.
