Interim Presentations by the first year Master's Course Students
OnNovember 28, 2024, the interim presentation of the first-year students of theMaster's Program in International Arid Land Science was held at the PublicRelations Center of Tottori University.
Thisinterim presentation provides a valuable opportunity for students to learnabout each other's research, to obtain feedback on their own research fromprofessors and students in other fields, and to interact and discuss with eachother across disciplines.
Inorder to further deepen the exchange between different research fields, thisyear's interim presentations include a “poster session” for first-year studentsonly, as part of the new presentation menu. At the presentation session, faculty members, master's course students and undergraduate students gatheredin front of their posters to engage in lively discussions, creating a livelyatmosphere at the venue.
Themoderator, reception desk, and venue setup were again handled by second-yearstudents this year.
Eachstudent's short talk, which was captured on video, was viewed online andevaluated and voted on by the faculty, along with the content of the posterpresentations. As a result, Lika Sugiura and Iori Sekita received the BestPresentation Award.
Theaward ceremony was held on December 4, 2024, at the Faculty of Agriculturebuilding, where the department chair gave words of encouragement to the twostudents, saying, “I hope that this award will encourage you to devote yourselfmore and more to your research.
