TU-ITP returnees from the AY2023 program give presentation on their experiences

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, two students,Yuki Tada and Riko Fujita (both 2nd year students in Department of Dryland Science), who studied on Tottori University’s  International Training Program (TU-ITP), gavea report out session and spoke about their researches and experiences. YukiTada studied at International Center for Agricultural Research in the DryAreas (ICARDA) in Egypt and Rico Fujita studied at the MediterraneanAgricultural Research Institute in Bari (CIHEAM) in Italy. Both returned homein the fall of 2024 after 11 months of research activities at their respectiveinstitutes.

 

This event took place on Koyama campus atits Department of Agriculture building, and was attended by 15 participants,including 13 undergraduate students. Associate professor Yuri Yamazaki gave anoverview of the TU-ITP program as she began leading the session. Many questionswere asked during the Q&A session as the students listened with great interest in the returnees experiences and the TU-ITP program. Professor Atsushi Tsunekawa, the leader of the Global Learning andEngagement unit, also joined in providing the students with information aboutthe program.

 

Finally, Doctor Koji Inosako, the head of theDepartment of Dryland Science, closed the session with words of encouragement,inviting the students to take on the challenges of this program in comingyears.
