The Department of Dryland Science offers “Overseas Practice Exercise (E)” in Morocco in the first quarter of AY2025

The Department of Dryland Science is offering the M2 students a course "Overseas Practice Exercise (E)" providing students with an opportunity to learn about drylands-specific agricultural challenges during the first quarter of the academic year 2025.

The training program is provided by the International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA).

The participants will gain first-hand experiences by engaging themselves in discussion with local farmers regarding issues they face and how they cope. It is designed to help students deepen their understanding about sustainable agricultural methods like water-saving irrigation and no-till farming that reduce environmental impact.

Various studies and analysis will also be introduced on wheat, barley, and legume breeding through the course of the field studies and lectures. They will also learn the relationship between livestock production and agriculture in arid land, and much more.

The course takes place in Morocco from April 20th through 27th. Apply during the application period: February 17 – 25.
