TU-ITP Returnees share their experiences from AY2023 & 2024 programs in UAE and Morocco
On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, two students, Kaori Sato and Rimi Iuchi, who studied on Tottori University’s International Training Program (TU-ITP), gave presentations to share what they have learned during the AY2023 and 2024 TU-ITP.
Kaori Sato studied at International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (IBCA) in the United Arab Emirates from October 2023 to August 2024, and Rimi Iuchi studied at the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) in the Kingdom of Morocco from November 2024 to September 2025.
This event took place on Koyama campus at its Department of Agriculture building and was attended by many students and faculty members who showed great interests in the TU-ITP experiences by these two students. After professor Shimizu gave an overview of the TU-ITP program, Kaori Sato and Rimi Iuchi introduced the research institutions they were sent to, and spoke about the scope of their researches and the achievements from the eleven months of their stays in UAE and Morocco. They also reflected on their cultural experiences in the respective countries.
During the subsequent Q & A session, professor Tsunekawa, the Director of Tottori University’s international Platform for Dryland Research and Education, asked the presenters the first few questions. The session ended successfully with Ms. Sato and Ms. Iuchi responding to more questions by other faculty members, adding more insights as to what TU-ITP offers to the graduate students at Tottori University.
