The Department of Dryland Science isoffering the M2 students a course "Overseas Practice Exercise (E)"providing students with an opportunity to learn about drylands-specificagricultural challenges during the first quarter (Q1) of the academic year 2021.
The training program is provided by theInternational Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) located inMorocco.
The participants will gain first-hand experienceby engaging themselves in discussion with local farmers regarding issues theyface and how they cope. It is designed to help students deepen theirunderstanding about sustainable agricultural methods such as water-savingirrigation and no-till farming that reduce environmental impact.
Various studies and analysis will also beintroduced on wheat, barley, and legume breeding through the course of fieldstudies and lectures. They will also learn the relationship between livestockproduction and agriculture in arid land.
The course takes place in Morocco fromApril 20th through 28th. Apply during the application period: February 9 – 16.
